Dignity for the Missing

Ahmet (Mehmet/Nazmije) Musa, 1978.

On April 8, 1999, members of the Serbian forces took Ahmet Musa, his brother-in-law Naim Asllani, Skender Osmani, and Mensur Salihu from the courtyard of Ahmet’s brother-in-law in the village of Shupkovc, across a meadow towards Mitrovica. They did not take the offered money and gold. No gunfire or sound of vehicles was heard after them. Two months later, Skender’s body was found near the Sitnica River, and the bodies of Naim and Mensur were found in 2004 in a mass grave in the village of Suvi Do. Ahmet’s remains have not been discovered yet.
