All children are important and valuable – not just “our” children

NATO 1999

Regarding the statement by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, made in a conversation with the German Defence Minister, Christine Lambrecht, in which he alleged that 82 children were killed in NATO attacks, with the comment “that our children are important and valuable to us”, as well as various statements of other politicians on NATO responsibility for the killing of Serbian children, the RECOM Reconciliation Network (RRN) calls on Serbian politicians to stop presenting the child victims as victims only from the Serbian ethnic community, and to address the still unresolved of children (and their families) on tractors accompanied by police near Bistrazhin/Bistražin, and at the pre-war military depot in the village of Korishë/Koriša. The RRN listed 101 victims of NATO under the age of 18 by their names: 66 children of Albanian, 25 of Serbian and 10 of Roma nationality. Among the  children killed, 66 were under the age of 14.
