{"id":122843,"date":"2014-11-15T15:32:08","date_gmt":"2014-11-15T14:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.recom.link\/?p=122843"},"modified":"2015-08-06T10:22:18","modified_gmt":"2015-08-06T09:22:18","slug":"desanka-pejcinovic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.recom.link\/en\/desanka-pejcinovic\/","title":{"rendered":"Desanka Pejcinovic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>In the session on \u201cPublic Testimony of Victims\u201d at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recom.link\/x-medunarodni-forum-za-tranzicionu-pravdu-u-post-jugoslovenskim-zemljama-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tenth Forum for Transitional Justice<\/a>, held in Belgrade on November 15-16, 2014, one audience member <strong>Desanka<\/strong><strong> Pejcinovic,<\/strong> a displaced person from Kosovo, requested to speak. She last saw her nineteen-year-old son Slobodan on March 26, 1999, when after breakfast he went to the city of Pec\/Peja. Her neighbour told her he went over the hill with his Albanian friends.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are all ready to forgive everything and to be humiliated for the sake of truth. They are neither among the dead nor among the living, and so I beg, not only RECOM, but all people of good will, of good character, I beg them wholeheartedly to help us. It is unbearable to wait for the bones, to make him a grave, to pay mother\u2019s dues. I am sorry if I am burdening you, but it\u2019s hard for me, you understand me better than anyone else.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Desanka read a poem by <strong>Dragica Majstorovic<\/strong>, whose son Ivan, a junior in the Pristina high-school, disappeared on August 19, 1999.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Her song is called \u201cYou, Murderer\u201d:<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Murderer<\/em><em>, you will be forgiven, just tell me where my son lies buried?<br \/>\nDid you rest a stone on his breast or scatter over him fine sand?<br \/>\nPerhaps you laid him in my field?<br \/>\nHow did you convict him? What guilt did you find in him? What did you tell him at the end?<br \/>\nDid you have his eyes covered?
